This website has been formed by a group of ardent fans of the Popular singer Hariharan. His songs have also been featured in plenty of Hindi and Tamil movies, are considered as classics by music lovers. He has also experimented with other languages including Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu and so on. He is even crowned as the King of Ghazal by music critics in India.

Hariharan started his career by getting on the performing at concerts as well as performing on television. His first song to be featured in a movie was “Ajeeb Sa neha Mujh Par Guzar gaya yaaron” for the film Gaman. This song went on to fetch him the Uttar Pradesh State Film Award and a National Award nomination. He hasn’t looked back since those days.  In 1992, A.R. Rahman was getting ready for debut film album, and decided to use Hariharan’s melodious voice for one of the songs. This introduction to the Tamil Music industry earned Hariharan the Tamil Nadu State Government Film Award as well.  With over 500 Tamil songs and 200 Hindi songs in his kitty, Hariharan has made his presence felt in the music industry.  He is regarded as an excellent playback singer who has the ability to breathe magic into any given song.

In the year 1996 Hariharan formed a band called Colonial Cousins along with Leslie Lewis from Mumbai. Their first album went on to win plenty of music awards and is often regarded as an introduction to fusion music to the general public.  The remaining albums “The Way We Do It”, “Aatma” and “Once More” were also noticed and attracted a lot of positive attention from music critics and music lovers. Colonial Cousins also composed the score and the soundtrack for the movie Modhi Vilayadhu in 2009.

With over thirty ghazal albums to Hariharan’s credit, it is no surprise that he is hailed as the King of Ghazals in the industry.  He writes the scores for his ghazals and has even composed songs along with the legendary Asha Bhosle, which went onto hit record sales in a short time.  His major ghazal albums are often regarded to be of exemplary work. Some of his outstanding albums include Hazir, Jashn, Halka Nasha, Guftagoo and so on. Hariharan had the honor of working with Zakir Hussain on the ghazal album Hazir which went to hit record sales.
