In 2010 , He has won the 2nd National award for the best playback singer for the soulful rendition of the song "Jeeva Dangala, Gundla Rangla Ahsa” from the Marathi movie “Jogava” composed by Ajay Atul.

In 2013, Hariharan was honoured with the National Lata Mangeshkar award.
